NEW COMMUNITY CENTRE

The Parish Council has spent a lot of the summer months putting in place the finances to complete the new Community Centre. The developers, Kier Homes Ltd and Bovis Homes Ltd are required under the Section 106 Agreement to design and build a Community Centre to the value of £875,000 and hand it over to the Parish Council by 28 June 2013. During the last 6 months we have been working on the plans and investigating green measures such as PV panels and air-source heat pumps to make the building as green and environmentally friendly as possible and although we have not yet worked out the final cost it looks to be in the region of £1,280,000. This leaves the Council with a shortfall which will be made up by a loan from the Public Works Loans Board. Provision for 50% of the loan repayment costs has already been budgeted in to the 2011/12 precept and the remaining 50% will be added in the 2012/13 Budget.
With even more development proposed for Cringleford, an additional 1,200 houses on top of the development at Round House Park, it is important to have enough facilities for everyone.
The Council will keep you informed as the Community Centre progresses but if you would like to know more please contact the Clerk.

NEW HOUSING PUBLIC EXHIBITIONS

South Norfolk Council is planning for growth up to 2026 in the housing and employment areas in South Norfolk. They have already consulted the public once but since that time further sites have come forward from land owners and developers and they are now looking to consult with the public again. They would like your views about the growth in your area and are holding a series of public exhibitions in the area. The nearest ones to Cringleford are:
Village Hall, Hethersett
14th September 3-7pm
Central Hall, Wymondham
17th September 3-7pm
Waitrose, Eaton
8th October 9am-4pm
If you have already made your views known you do not need to respond again as those views will still be taken into account. If you would like to read the consultation document and respond via the website visit

DOG FOULING AT THE PARK

The Council has received complaints about dog fouling at the park in Oakfields Road. One lady was very distressed as her son had fallen in the dog faeces and this was not very nice for her or the child. Please clear up after your dog, if your children walk your dogs make sure they know how to clear up safely, and don’t allow your dog to wander freely without checking where they are. Stay with your dog at all times and don’t be distracted as this may be the moment your dog decides to do its business. Remember it is your responsibility to clear up after your dog, not the Parish Council grounds staff.
