Cringleford is ideally situated 3 miles S.W. of Norwich and close to the University of East Anglia, the Norfolk & Norwich University Hospital and Norwich Research Park and within easy reach of the A11, A47 and A140. There is a strong village atmosphere which has resulted in it's winning the Norfolk Village of the Year Competition six times, Best Kept Children's Play-area three times and winning the Best Kept Village Green Competition. Cringleford is a popular place to live and today is a thriving village with a population of over two thousand people.

It has an attractive setting bordered by the Yare Valley, an Area of High Landscape Value, and agricultural land with a Conservation Area at the heart of the village. Within the Conservation Area lie the Village Green, with it's prominent village sign, old pump, and seating, the parish church, listed buildings and water meadows. Many established trees and open areas contribute to a spacious and 'green' aspect.

Over the last 30 years the village has steadily expanded with a wide range of properties being built. Further development is due to take place to the west of Colney Lane, with a new school, community centre, shop and additional public amenities.

They include the whole range of Guiding and Scouting groups, two thriving Women's Institutes, Horticultural Society, Historical Society, Flower Clubs, Amateur Dramatic Society Senior Citizen's Luncheon Club many more as listed under useful contacts.
